Information you enter
The Start-to-First-Hire Navigator runs in the browser. Its selections are not submitted to our server or stored in a database.
Hosting records
Like most websites, the hosting provider may process technical request information such as IP address, device or browser information, requested URL, timestamp, and security logs to deliver and protect the site.
Corrections form
If you use the corrections form, Netlify processes and stores the page URL, correction text, any optional reply email you provide, and technical submission records. That information is used only to review and respond to the correction. Do not submit confidential, employee, tax, identity, financial, or other sensitive information.
Analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and clicks on disclosed partner links. Google receives technical information about your visit, such as browser/device information and the page path, and processes it under its privacy policy. We disable advertising personalization and Google signals in our site configuration.
Analytics stays off until you choose “Allow analytics” in the preferences below. “No thanks” leaves it off. You can change your choice using “Analytics preferences” at the bottom of any page; withdrawing permission stops collection and clears our Google Analytics cookies. We also respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser signals.
Your choice is remembered locally for up to 90 days. We configure analytics cookies to expire after 90 days without extending their lifetime on each visit. Cookie lifetime is separate from retention of data already processed in Google Analytics; contact us about deletion requests. We do not send tool answers, correction text, email addresses, URL query strings, or URL fragments in our configured analytics events. Analytics is not loaded on the corrections form or its confirmation page.
Outbound links
Government and commercial sites have their own privacy practices. Opening an external link sends a request to that destination.
Affiliate attribution
LegalZoom is currently an approved partner. Its clearly labeled links appear in the formation-service decision guide and the California start-business guide and may use affiliate-network attribution parameters or cookies on the partner or network site. Other approved partner links, if added, will be labeled and this policy will be updated before they go live.
